A foundational course offering an introduction to classical drawing and painting. Combining work from life with the study of masterworks, it helps students understand the process of creating an artwork from start to finish.
This course is for you if:

In this course, we focus on building your skills through the study and analysis of academic examples, as well as practical work from still life and plaster casts. During the program, equal attention is given to both the technical properties of materials and the step-by-step methodology of working.
Through exercises with geometric forms, you will learn the fundamental principles of construction, perspective, light and shadow, and the modelling of volume. Through observational work on a still life, you will develop an understanding of color harmony and composition, learn how to organise a painting in stages, and become familiar with academic methods of modelling form in oil paint.
Class format: online (live on Zoom)
Start of training: admission all year round
Recommended level: beginners to advanced artists are welcome. This course is a good choice if you have no prior experience in classical art.
