The results of landscape practices

We will display all the work that we will do in plein-air practices to come to the landscape as a picture with an optimal compositional, color and technical solution.

During the year, we will select work for the exhibition. We plan an exhibition in Venice in Palazzo Barbaro has historically been a significant hub for American artists, often dubbed the "Venetian Mecca."  Now, the Palazzo is poised to reopen its doors, welcoming us to its historically rich interiors, adorned with masterpieces by American artists of the 19th century.

In 1881, the older palazzo was rented by a relative of the American painter John Singer Sargent, Daniel Sargent Curtis, who eventually purchased it in 1885. Daniel and Ariana Curtis undertook extensive repairs and restoration of Palazzo Barbaro, transforming it into a vibrant center of American artistic life in Venice. The palazzo saw visits from luminaries such as Sargent himself, their son Ralph Wormeley Curtis, Henry James, Whistler, Robert Browning, and Claude Monet. Notable members of the "Barbaro Circle" included Bernard Berenson, William Merritt Chase, Isabella Stewart Gardner, Edith Wharton, and Charles Eliot Norton.

Henry James famously completed The Aspern Papers at a desk still housed within the palace today. James lauded the Barbaro ballroom as the epitome of Venetian Baroque interiors, immortalizing it with a vivid description in his novel The Wings of the Dove. In 1898, John Singer Sargent captured a group portrait of the Curtis family within the salon, titled An Interior in Venice​.​
